MAK @ ELMS: MATTEO CRESSONI

MAK sponsored driver Matteo Cressoni wins the ELMS and he is European Champion!

In the worst case scenario, a sixth place would have been enough for the mathematical conquest of the title, but Matteo Cressoni and his teammates paid no attention to calculations and strategies and, as it was in all five previous rounds, competed with the sole aim of winning. also the last race of the season at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve, and so it was!

An impressive roadmap, which saw the crew of the Ferrari 488 GTE Evo no.80 always on the podium in all the events of the ELMS, the European Le Mans Series: three wins, two seconds and a third place in six races, an absolute dominance that led the drivers of the Iron Lynx team to conquer the title of European Champions!
Even on the Portuguese circuit of Portimao, despite the timid premise of wanting to aim for a race in absolute control, the Italian-Spanish crew showed off their usual determination – which has become a real trademark during the entire championship – once given the start of the dispute, dispelling all doubts and extinguishing all hopes of the opponents, coming back first under the checkered flag.
The title of European Champions, absolutely deserved for Matteo Cressoni, Rino Mastronardi, Miguel Molina and all the staff and guys of Iron Lynx (who win the title among the teams), also brings the pass for the 2022 edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans!
“What can I say … an enormous, unique emotion and satisfaction! A title that is the result of a lot of work and commitment, to share with my teammates and all the Iron Lynx guys: each one was a fundamental cog to make it work perfectly this machine, a unity of purpose and a team spirit that has led us to this splendid result! “, Matteo’s words.
“I thank and dedicate this further and great success first of all to my family, to the teammates and to the Iron Lynx team who have given me this great opportunity, to the partners and sponsors who have been following and supporting me for many years and without whom I would not have been able to reach these levels, to friends and my supporters! “.
And starting from the award ceremony on the podium, the big party started, continued in the evening at the official gala of the championship organizer and then inside the Iron Lynx hospitality; after the celebrations, Matteo Cressoni and part of the team will move directly to Bahrain for the fifth and penultimate round of the World Endurance Championship: it will actually be the first of two events on the circuit of the United Arab Emirates, as the following weekend will be held on the same track the last round of the WEC.
