MAK @ RACE FOR THE CURE

MAK is proud to have made its contribution to the deserving Race for the Cure initiative, organised in September by Susan G. Komen Italia: a volunteer-based organisation on the front line in the fight against breast cancer throughout Italy. It was founded in 2000 in Rome as the first European affiliate of the Susan G. Komen in Dallas under the leadership of Prof. Riccardo Masetti.

The goals:

  • Keeping the spotlight on the issue of breast cancer and women’s health in general and promoting prevention in its various forms in a concrete way.
  • To support women who experience breast cancer.
  • To strengthen research and opportunities for treatment, lifelong learning and health education.

RACE FOR THE CURE – 2023

The central element was the Health Village at Campo Marte where free diagnostic screening examinations for the main female diseases were offered, particularly to women living in socially or economically fragile conditions. The highlight of the event was the 2 km walk and 5 km run open to all.
