MAK Wheels Sponsored Driver Matteo Cressoni comes close to the podium in the 8H Bahrain 2024, the concluding race of the FIA World Endurance Championship. The Mantuan driver delivers on expectations, finishing fourth in the competitive LMGT3 class alongside teammates Claudio Schiavoni and Matteo Cairoli.
The long challenge in the Arabian desert saw the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 #60 of the Iron Lynx team always on the attack. The pace shown from the early laps allowed the Italian team to contend for a podium finish in the final stages, with Matteo Cairoli battling for a Top 3 in the exciting closing moments.
Cairoli received the car in perfect condition from Matteo Cressoni, who completed a remarkable 74 laps during the eight-hour race, confirming his status as one of the best Silver drivers on the grid. The #60 car was unable to replicate the podium finish achieved at the 6H Spa-Francorchamps in the concluding minutes, which was undoubtedly one of the highlights of the 2024 racing season.
The former champion of the European Le Mans Series commented: “The afternoon was long and very demanding. The race was exciting, and we were competitive until the end, fighting for a place on the podium. It’s a shame not to finish in the Top 3, but we are very pleased with our performance. Now we look ahead to the next commitments.”
