TCR Italy Touring Car Championship: Matteo Cressoni great comeback
Great show this weekend at the Misano World Circuit "Marco Simoncelli" for the appointment with the TCR Italy Touring Car Championship. After the unfortunate debut in Imola, Walter Margelli is back on track on board of his Honda Civic TCR with the Nannini Racing Team, for the Italian Championship reserved for Tourism two-liter turbocharged front-wheel drive. The Misano round allowed the driver to return to the track after the bad accident in Imola, testing the conditions of its Civic. The qualification has seen Margelli in 26th position, with race 1 ended in the 24th place overall.
The weekend ended in crescendo, with the 13th place obtained in race 2: the second heat was in fact marked by a red flag, exposed due to a spectacular accident, which forced the riders to a sprint race, in which Walter Margelli's experience prevailed. The experience gained at Misano will be fundamental for Margelli to focus on the result at the next round of the TCR Italy Touring Car Championship. For the Nannini Racing Team's bishop, the next round of the Italian Touring Championship with two front-wheel turbochargers is scheduled for July 15 at Mugello Circuit. Matteo Cressoni, who raced again in the Italian Gran Turismo Championship, shared the two cars of the Nova Race GT3 Light and GT4 team with the teammate Luca Magnoni. The Misano races have confirmed the extreme level of competitiveness of the duo, already highlighted in Imola, right from qualifying: Cressoni and Magnoni have in fact conquered the pole position both in GT3 Light aboard the Audi R8 and in GT4 aboard the Ginetta G55. The pole was followed by an equally convincing test in the two races, with victory in both races in GT4, with the GT3 Light that saw them victorious in race 1 and second in race 2. Therefore, the positive moment for Matteo Cressoni and the Nova Race of Correggio, which are confirmed at the top in the 2018 edition of the Italian GT Championship.
